The LGA Advisory Committee
At its inaugural meeting on 15th October 2010, the Advisory Committee agreed that for the present it would confine its role to monitoring the use of the garden. Members agreed to visit the garden at least once a week and keep a record of their observations, including:
- numbers using the garden particularly at opening and closing times
- where and how people spend their time
- how children use it
- any incidences of noisy or rowdy behaviour
- grafitti and wilful damage
- drinking, drunkenness and breaches of rules
- any animals in the garden (with the exception of cats)
- maintenance and repair requirements
It was also agreed to meet at least four times a year. The quarterly meetings will be held prior to the Access Agreement meeting in order to report any difficulties to that meeting. Opening hours, behaviour and damage will be reviewed. Informal meetings will be held as the need arises to discuss any relevant matters. The current committee members are:
Lorette Logie
David Mitchell
Derek Williams
The advisory committee welcomes further members who live close to the garden and are prepared to commit to keeping an eye on what goes on there. If you are interested in joining please contact Lorette Logie or David Mitchell.
